Account Manager - Sydney CBD

Team: Broking Team
Role Reports to: Senior Account Manager
Direct Reports: Nil
Remuneration Arrangement: Fixed Salary
Position Location: Sydney CBD
Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide service to Resilium Authorised Representatives (ARs) by facilitating placement of business into appropriate markets and guiding our ARs as far as an overall Insurance program structure for their clients.
Key Accountabilities
  • Building a solid functional relationship with AR network.
  • Provide broking expertise to assist in placing risks for referring brokers - provide technical advice to referring brokers.
  • Coach less experienced brokers on broking technics, markets and 'add on' opportunities.
  • Provide high quality customer service to referring brokers in accordance with company standards - Maintain professional relationship with Insurers/Underwriters on the approved panel.
  • Introduce Premium Funding to all commercial clients from the approved panel.
  • Attend education sessions for referring brokers to assist with professional development - achievement of sales and retention targets.
  • Portfolio management of the existing renewal portfolio.
  • Develop and implement renewal strategies and manage the renewal cycle.
  • Remarket the existing renewal portfolio and ensure that the business is placed with the correct insurers in line with Resilium Insurance Broking strategies.
Working Relationships
Internal
Placement Broking Team, Regional Managers, Business Managers, Compliance Team, Marketing Team and Operations Team.
External
Authorised Representatives, Practice Principals, Industry Underwriters, Steadfast Representatives.
Qualifications
RG146 with a minimum Tier 1 Broking accreditation.
Skills and Abilities
  • General insurance underwriting and technical skills with all products accreditations.
  • Relationship management and issue resolution skills.
  • Ability to provide loss prevention advice to customers.
  • An ability to develop and maintain strong business relationship within the broking industry.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are adhered to including any requirements regarding training on the business' products and services.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiating, verbal and written communication skills.
  • A level of business acumen including data analysis and the preparation of annual sales plan.
  • An understanding of sales and marketing promotions including retention activity.
  • Able to co-ordinate business development initiatives including sales and marketing plans.
  • Sourcing information by liasing with subject matter specialists.
  • Identify opportunities for communication, promotions, marketing initiatives and process improvement
  • Maintains a high level of self-confidence with considerable drive, energy and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to respond to change and adopt a flexible/innovative approach to problems and opportunities.

Experience
  • A minimum three years experience within the general insurance industry, with knowledge and experience relating to commercial business a necessity.
  • A minimum of three years experience within the financial services industry.
  • Broking experience.
  • Experience dealing with intermediary distribution channels.

Business Systems Specialist - Sydney CBD

Team: Resilium

Role Purpose
  • To ensure all Broker systems issues that arise are dealt with in a timely manner as they arise
  • Work to ensure that access to Resilium systems are restricted and maintained on an ongoing basis
  • Driving growth and profitability of all general insurance business lines written through Resilium by insurers systems are working as required and issues are being resolved within agreed SLA's
  • Work with Insurers and our internal support areas to ensure that all Broker facing systems are working as required and available to brokers
  • Work with Steadfast technologies, EBIX and other licences to coordinate and test data transfers from other brokers to Resilium Insurance Broking
  • Work with our Brokers to ensure that EBIX VPN's are set up and working correctly at all times
  • Role model the Resilium Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Work on Resilium projects as required. This may involve participating in larger initiatives as a team member
  • Proactively fostering a true partnership approach between our customers and partners
  • Coordinate the prioritisation of changes to the INSIGHT Broker Management System
  • Manage the testing and communication of INSIGHT releases
  • Work collaboratively with the Resilium Training team to manage and identify support issues
Key Accountabilities
Teamwork
  • Support Resilium teams to maximise success of programs through the channel
  • Work closely with relevant Insurer and IT stakeholders to maintain current knowledge of developing projects and initiatives affecting the Resilium channel
  • Engaging team members to facilitate management of daily tasks
  • Active participation in team activities, constantly living the Resilium values
Systems
  • Monitoring that all Resilium systems are operating as planned and within agreed service levels, and advising the National Business Solutions Manager of any issues
  • Work with Steadfast Technologies regarding resolving any issues with systems
  • Work with Steadfast Technologies, EBIX and other licences to coordinate and test data transfers to Resilium Insurance Broking
  • Lodge, maintain and track outstanding issues, including escalation as required
  • Identify necessary system enhancements necessary for Resilium, and our Brokers, to process business efficiently and accurately
  • Work with EBIX and Brokers to install and maintain EBIX VPN connections
  • Work with existing and potential Resilium IT vendors
  • Build and maintain Resilium and Resilium Insurance Broking reports
Project Management
  • Participate in projects as a team member
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Resilium Brokers and key external stakeholders
General
  • Facilitate the design of systems/processes to improve performance
